Woodland Shop

The Woodlands Shop aims to support young people at Fern House to behave safely and appropriately, experience the feeling of deferred gratification, become a productive member of society, understand the value of money, understand the importance of saving and make smart financial decisions.

The Woodlands Shop is run by the Well-being Lead and pupils. Every day, the shop will open and pupils who have earned virtual money can spend this on items in the shop. The Well-being Lead, together with identified pupils will be responsible for stock, costs, customer service, opening times, premises, marketing and sales.

Pupils can earn virtual money daily for attendance, when they achieve their personal development targets, keep all their Together Time, bring in their diary and have a successful lunch. Pupils can also earn virtual money weekly when they successfully follow all of the Fern House School values. This amount can be spent on items in the shop or saved to purchase more expensive items (deferred gratification).

If pupils have red behavioural incidents they will be fined accordingly by the adults and virtual money will be deducted from their account. Classroom staff are responsible for adding or deducting money.
