In July 2020, the government announced £1billion of funding to support children and young people to catch up lost time following what has been a period of considerable disruption for every child. This includes a one-off £650million catch-up premium for the 2020-21 academic year to ensure that schools have the support they need to help all children make up for lost teaching time.
