  • Duke of Edinburgh Award

    The Duke of Edinburgh Award is a tool to develop essential skills for life and work such as resilience, problem-solving, team-working, communication and drive.

    It is a programme with three progressive levels which, when successfully completed, leads to a Bronze, Silver or Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

    Pupils has to complete 4 or 5 sections: helping the community/environment, becoming fitter, developing new skills and planning, training and completing an expedition.

    Bronze timescales

    • Volunteering section: 3 months - Physical section: 6 months
    • Skills section :3 months - Expedition section: 2 days/1 night

    Activities

    • Volunteering section: mentoring, fundraising, recycling and supporting younger pupils with reading
    • Physical section: canoeing, caving, climbing, archery, badminton and football
    • Skills section: cooking, learning a new language (Spanish), money management

    Award: Nationally recognised.
    Awarding Body: The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is a registered charity.
